Bricking Paused for electrical work

There's been no brick work for the past week. In th meantime some of the electrical stuff has been put in. Simonds also called us to say that the remaining roof tiles have been delayed a couple of weeks.

first floor is wrapped up in insulation. scaffolding for brick work is set up and ready.

new bricks delivered.

ducted heating/cooling vents snake through the ceiling

over the family and dining area

surprisingly the shower flooring was delivered a week ago. ???whyyy??? it's still a long ways off

upstairs the vent works are much more concentrated

these things connect to a roof mounted evaporative cooling system

ceiling looks scary actually

the "orifice"

im standing on the neighbor's new floor (sorry). you can see their bricks are starting

in case you missed it that's the newly installed cooler at the top of the rear-side roof

some views when we climbed the scaffolding

looking "into" the upstairs windows

this would be our view from upstairs

end of the street alright

our new neighbor beginning construction

as a nice surprise, landscaping has begun on the linear park across our street

this would be a nice green park feature

shot of the rear again, now with the cooling system in place (and you can see the heating ducts through the unfinished roof)

Bricking Continues. Ground Floor almost completely bricked.

Bricking is proceeding briskly. Almost all the entire ground floor has been bricked including the little finishing touches.

yay!

garage complete.

portico and facade windows bricked and ready for rendering.
(in retrospect, we should have enlarged the portico)
lounge room windows finished
they finish the window sill with slanting bricks
view of the facade sideways from the garage

east side
the laundry sliding door has been bricked
the rear bricked except for the foot of the rear sliding door.
south west side
this is the house next door on the western side. i kind of like his big al fresco area but we opted for a smaller al fresco on our side with bigger interior space.
2 solar panels for the hot water system
this shot shows the big slope of the land our houses are on. the west side of our house is set to the extreme left of our land (to maximize the eastern space).. you can clearly see that our concrete slab is about a foot higher than our neighbors. similarly we would be lower than our eastern neighbor (when he finally decides to build). this means we'd probably have to spend money to fill our surrounding area with soil plus build retaining walls all around to keep the earth in.
we are catching up!
lost and found inside the lounge room. haha.

Bricking begins!

Bricking began last week and I must say they seem quite speedy (so far).
One problem is the main brick colour we chose (STRAW) is not the brick we received. What you can see below looks more of like the (MACADEMIA) coloured brick. We are taking this up with our SS and hopefully sort this out.

Facade is shaping up

That reddish brick will be covered by rendering. The MACADEMIA colured brick (not the one we chose) is to be left alone and visible.

All to be rendered

Wet on top. Dry on bottom.

Back of the garage.. you can see the al fresco floor to the right.

The tucked away al fresco area.

Inside the garage the brick finish is ugly. There appears to be no plan to insulate the garage at all.. ill have to check.

more of the garage with rear access

The East side of the house(the house faces North)
...now.. can anyone tell me if the bricks above look like the STRAW brick in my previous post (below)
